Author Guidelines
Manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to preliminary assessment by the journal editor. In the preliminary assessment process, manuscripts that are deemed suitable are passed on to the review stage, while manuscripts that do not comply with the publication conditions may be sent back to the corresponding author for revision, reformatted, or rejected. During the review stage, the editor sends the manuscript to the reviewers he/she deems appropriate for reviewing it.
Manuscripts that comply with the following writing rules are included in the review process:
- Manuscripts must lie within the journal’s purpose, scope, publication ethics and policy.
- Manuscripts must be written in Turkish or English.
- A blind reviewing system is applied in the journal. Therefore, an article submitted for the evaluation process must not include any sign, name or expression that could reveal the identity of the author(s).
- An English “Abstract” consisting of 200-250 words and an “Extended Abstract” consisting of 750-1000 words should be added to articles in Turkish. For articles in English, there should be an abstract of 200-250 words in Turkish and English (This translation service will be provided by the journal for authors whose first language is not Turkish.)
- The length of a study should not exceed 7000 words including appendices. The references section and extended abstract are not included in this count.
- Manuscripts must comply with the IJE writing and publication rules (based on APA 7th edition).
- Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the journal template (The template can be downloaded from the journal webpage).
The manuscript must not have been previously published elsewhere. Presentations published as full text are also not accepted for publication.
Before publication, evaluations are made in accordance with the principles of blind reviewing. Manuscripts are reviewed by two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. In the absence of a clear opinion, the manuscript is reviewed by a third reviewer. Provided that two reviewers accept it, and the editor approves, the manuscript is placed in the publication queue.
Plagiarism checks are carried out for every manuscript submitted to the journal for publication. Any legal liability at this stage rests with the authors.
