Every individual takes family elders as role models in the environment in which he/she grows up; he/she shapes his/her behavior within the framework of the values, traditions and customs they keep alive. It determines its perspective on life in line with the knowledge and skills it acquires in its family, and learns to be strong thanks to these knowledge and skills in the process of socialization and socialization. In other words, “people acquire some of the behaviors that form the basis of their personalities in the family environment” (Aliyeva Çınar, 2022). It is possible to explain this cultural interaction of the individual with family elders in the formation of his/her identity with the concept of “ethnopedagogy”. Although the concept of “ethnopedagogy” has only recently entered the world of science, it contributes to science by standing out with its unique functions as a branch of pedagogy. According to Çınar (2018), “ethnopedagogy is one of the branches of educational science that deals with the content that a society (ethnic group) has developed and carried from the depths of history, the transfer of its traditional ethnic-national knowledge and consciousness, and the knowledge and teaching methods it uses in raising children”. Based on this definition, it can be concluded that the basis of the discipline of ethnopedagogy is the study of the process of human upbringing and the tools and methods used in this process. This article focuses on the work “Ethnopedagogy of the Tuva People” written by G. N. Volkov, K. B. Salchak and A. S. Shaali.
